Dr. Salim Pathan serves as the Chief Ophthalmic Surgeon at Hi Tech Eye Surgery Center. He holds an M.B.B.S degree from B.J. Medical College, Pune, Maharashtra (1998) and completed his post-graduation in ophthalmology from L.T.M.M.C, Sion, Mumbai, Maharashtra, earning a D.O., D.N.B., and a gold-medalist D.O.M.S in 2003. He also holds an F.C.P.S and an I.C.O from the same institution, achieved in 2004.
Dr. Pathan specializes in advanced cataract surgeries, specifically PHACOEMULSIFICATION with foldable lens implantation under topical anesthesia, which requires no injection, stitches, or pads. His expertise extends to corneal refractive surgeries such as PRK, FEMTO LASIK, and SMILE, as well as corneal transplants, keratoconus management, and oculoplasty and squint surgeries.
With over 12 years of experience as an Associate Professor at B.J. Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, Dr. Pathan has performed more than 20,000 cataract surgeries. He is an active member of several ophthalmological societies, including the Poona Ophthalmology Society, where he served as treasurer for the 2017-18 term, the Maharashtra Ophthalmology Society, the All India Ophthalmological Society, and the Delhi Ophthalmology Society.
